Here's to ridding ourselves of a truly awful year!
Yeah, let’s be honest with ourselves - 2023? Pretty awful year for a film student who just graduated with their degree, and wanted to focus on screenwriting moving onward. Writers’ strike plus an actors’ strike, either way, I just figured that the rest of 2023 should be a year for me to take a break from anything related to being on set. All because I thought that directing my own thesis film after all took such a toll on my mental health.
But also, I’ve mostly been building up a name for myself with the amount of films that I’ve been known to catch all year round - primarily at Toronto’s own rep theaters (namely the TIFF Lightbox and the Revue Cinema).
