Friday's Five Films: May 24, 2024

Another weekly roundup.

Furiosa opened up today (to be reviewed later on Cinema from the Spectrum, but spoiler alert: I loved it!) so I thought it was a perfect time to rewatch the Mad Max movies. Unfortunately, streaming didn’t exactly make things much easier for the only ones that I found readily available were the first one and Fury Road (which I own). But I think that I couldn’t go without at least watching a whole lot more in my spare time - hence where these new watches have taken me. It gets harder, especially when I rewatched Lee Chang-dong’s Peppermint Candy and want to highlight it, but I think that deserves a Defining Favourites section instead.

But for now, I suppose I’ll have these ready for now. Let’s get right into it.
